Light to occasionally moderate rainfall mainly east of the
Interstate 65 corridor will gradually diminish over the next two to
three hours... with additional rain of one to three tenths of an inch
possible.
Although the threat of additional heavy rainfall and flash flooding
has diminished... numerous roads and bridges remain closed due to
flood waters. Runoff will continue overnight into small streams and
creeks... many of which will run bankfull or higher causing
additional flooding through Wednesday morning.
Here is updated information on big Wills Creek in Fort Payne. At
1045 PM... the river stage was 14.1 feet and nearing its crest.
Flood stage is 11 feet. The river will remain in flood through
Wednesday morning.
Here is updated information on Indian Creek in Madison. At 1115
PM... the river stage was 7.80 feet and now falling. The river
should fall below the flood stage of 7.5 feet before 6 am this
morning.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
